The benefits and joy of work in addition to the obvious
The benefits and joy of work in addition to the obvious
A series of remarks on the value of work.
Section One:
God loves us and wants to be with us spiritually regardless
if we are poor or rich. Tall or short. It doesn’t matter. Male or female. Jew or Gentile.
He wants to dwell in our hearts and our homes and our
workplace. He invites us to cast all our
cares on Him. The stresses of family
interactions and work pressures can and should be given to God to handle for
us.
He knows we are sinners and still wants to reach out to
us. He knows that there are things we
have done wrong that need to be corrected and forgiveness sought. Still, He wants to reach out to us.
Luke 19.
19 He entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 And there was a man called by the name of Zaccheus; he was a chief tax collector and he was rich. 3 Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd, for he was small in stature. 4 So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a [a]sycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way. 5 When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
John 3.
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His [e]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 He
who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been
judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the [f]only begotten Son of God.
Romans 5.
5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, [a]we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and [b]we exult in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only this, but [c]we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man; [d]though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified [e]by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved [f]by His life. 11 And not only this, [g]but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
