6.23-The memory of my grandmother, Hazy Agnes Wishard
Yesterday I attended the Oak Ridge Church of Christ online.
The
memory of my grandmother, Hazy Agnes Wishard, was strong. She was
married in 1899. At 44 years of age she was widowed. She raised eight
children and an eight year old grandson who still attends the
congregation where she took all her children and her grandchild.
She was a follower of Jesus. She pointed her children and grandchildren toward Jesus Christ as the best guide through life. They built a tabernacle to worship under in about 1915 that still stands. In 1979 I was honored to preach at a revival they had in honor of their 100th anniversary as a congregation.
I was able to worship online with the Oak Ridge church where over 30 of her family worshipped together on 6.7.20. 2020 years after Jesus was born.
This congregation has used carpenter tools to build a tabernacle as a shade and shelter.
Then a building.
Then a new building.
Then Air Conditioning and many other improvements down to the tools of
the online streaming on Facebook to communicate the good news.
That gospel is that Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem all sinners who turn to Him. He arose from the grave because of God’s forgiveness won for us a place with God as His children.
Jesus followers have used handwritten letters, the printing press, telegraph, radio, television, internet and due to Corona Virus most churches are using online livestreaming to communicate the grace and mercy of God.
God turns bad things into good things.

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus [a]by the will of God, according to the promise of life in Christ Jesus,
2 To Timothy, my beloved [b]son: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience [c]the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my [d]prayers night and day, 4 longing to see you, even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy. 5 [e]For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well. 6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of [f]timidity, but of power and love and [g]discipline.
