6.25- When my family would have some communication problems

6.25-

When my family would have some communication problems and chaos there seemed to be nothing that helped us except to turn off all media for an unspecified period of time.

The father would say firmly, "Shut off all media."

The rest of the family would say, "No, I have to watch ....."

The father would say loudly and firmly, "Shut off all media."

There would be one resistant person who would say, "No, you can't do that."

The father would say, very loudly and very firmly, "I pay the electricity and I run this house until you get the courts and the police to take me out of here I am in charge more loudly and firmly than ever, SHUT OFF ALL MEDIA NOW."

Eventually, there would be a frustration. Then people would get busy doing more productive things. Going for a jog. Reading. Making some soup. Praying. Then after a while of silence. No radio. No television. No headphones. Nothing but the sound of silence. Eventually one of the children would come to me and say, "Dad, can we have some media back on?"

I would say, "I don't know. Can you? Can you have the freedom and joy of treating everyone in the house with respect and dignity as a loving human being and still enjoy the freedom of good media?"

That child would say, "I know I can."

I would say. "What needs to be done to straighten out what happened?"

That child would gave a very good answer or a very "I'm still in denial answer."

If it was a very good answer I would know we could handle the freedom and get back to a 'normal' life.

Media would come back on. Some would turn to sports. Some would turn to a movie and some would get back to washing the car and others would get back to mopping the kitchen.

I was watching a group of four guys at a meeting trying to work together to become better humans. After an hour of discussion a man said,

"I think this combination of the Corona Pandemic and the three shootings of black people has pushed massive numbers of people of all colors and back grounds into the streets to say we cannot and will not live like this any more. This cannot be my country. I will not allow it. This could not have happened if God, had not shut down all non essential business, schools, sports, entertainment, Las Vegas, Broadway and shopping for 100 days."

I wonder if maybe the vast majority of my country is not to quit playing mind games at work and quit using and abusing and disrespecting each other so that we can enjoy the freedom we are blessed with in our "normal' life in the wonderful country called the United States. God bless America."

Matthew 24.

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 For [a]the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
