Elections cannot change the character of God.

He uses those of us who are able to help others who have needs to connect with Jesus who is the great healer of people.

He wants us to be bold and confident to tell our family members what God has done to help us.

When people reach out to each other and attempt to share how they have been helped, this has a couple of ways it helps others.  They don’t feel isolated and they may find in our story of being helped a path for them to receive help as well.  There is a spiritual and mental healing that is the beginning of any healing.  If one wants to get well then they make moves to help get help.  Healing spiritually and of a groups looks like this from Jesus perspective.

Acts 2.

37 Now when they heard this, they were [ao]pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “[ap]Brothers, what are we to do?” 38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying, “[aq]Be saved from this perverse generation!” 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand [ar]souls. 42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to [as]prayer.

43 [at]Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and [au]signs were taking place through the apostles. 44 And all the believers [av]were together and had all things in common; 45 and they would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need. 46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread [aw]from house to house, they were taking their [ax]meals together with gladness and [ay]sincerity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to [az]their number day by day those who were being saved.

Notice that healed people get together with others who have been healed and this love of God overflows.

1 Thessalonians 3.

, 7 for this reason, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and affliction we were comforted about you through your faith; 8 for now we really live, if you stand firm in the Lord. 9 For what thanks can we give to God for you in return for all the joy with which we rejoice because of you before our God, 10 as we keep praying most earnestly night and day that we may see your faces, and may complete what is lacking in your faith?

11 Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you; 12 and may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you; 13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the [e]coming of our Lord Jesus with all His [f]saints.

 


Why is the fellowship of God’s children so healing?  Because it comes from God who is love.  His love flows from His heart to ours and ours overflows to each other.
