4.29- Jesus was called the lamb of God.
4.29-
Jesus was called the lamb of God.
Revelation 14.
14 Then I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing
on Mount Zion, and with Him 144,000 who had His name and
the name of His Father written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven,
like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder, and
the voice which I heard was like the sound of harpists
playing on their harps. 3 And they *sang [a]a new
song before the throne and before the four living creatures and
the elders; and no one was able to learn the song except
the 144,000 who had been purchased from the earth. 4 These are the ones who have not defiled
themselves with women, for they are celibate. These are the
ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These have been purchased
from mankind as first fruits to God and to the Lamb. 5 And no lie was found in their mouths; they
are blameless.
2 Timothy 4.
4 I
solemnly exhort you in the presence of God and of Christ
Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing
and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready [a]in season and out
of season; correct, rebuke, and [b]exhort, with [c]great patience and
instruction. 3 For the time will come when
they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to
have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in
accordance with their own desires, 4 and
they will turn their ears away from the truth and will turn aside to
myths. 5 But as for you, use
self-restraint in all things, endure hardship, do the work of
an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
6 For I am
already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my
departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have
finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 in
the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which
the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only
to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
He was born to be the
sin payment for all the sins of all the world of all time so that grace and
mercy could be applied to all people if they wanted to receive His gift. He lived a perfect life and on the cross He
absorbed all the sins of all the world and paid the moral debt of sin for all
of us. He was on the cross saying,
“Father forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing.” When He had reached out in love to the full
extent possible He said, “It is finished.”
He breathed His last and was buried.
Last week we celebrated Easter which is the day we found out that the
payment of Jesus life for our sins had worked.
The tomb was empty.
By relying on the words of Jesus we can live a life of grace,
mercy and peace. This life with Jesus remains
steady regardless of what is going on in the world. The early followers of Jesus survived wars
and earthquakes and famines and religious persecution. Jesus had taught them blessed are those that
are persecuted and those who mourn for they shall be comforted by God.
This is my good news to you today.
