12.15- Christmas includes the joy of children.

 12.15-

Christmas includes the joy of children. God created and world that gave us the chance to love our children. The world of baby Jesus included the freedom, but not permission, for a king to kill a bunch of innocent children because Satan tempted him to kill and he did.
Local and national news stories cause us deep sorrow over the murder of a child in Paradise, Texas. This is not Paradise. The way to heavenly Paradise includes grieving over the death of children. Turning to Jesus for comfort and guidance. We will double down on loving children and being alert to protect them from all that can harm them and working to support what helps them.
Jesus did what He could to break the chain of discounting children by His life and teaching. I pray we can break the chains of hate by turning to the work of standing up for justice to those who hurt children. We will use today to catch tears of all who have lost a child. We work to keep people hopeful instead of hopeless. We work to reach out to lonely, depressed and isolated people and love them into a better connection with the human family.
At church yesterday we were reminded when our view of God is larger our problems and frustration are smaller. Our God is big enough to give His Son for us. Thank you God.

Matthew 18.

18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Causing to Stumble

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
