 4.14-

t's now Sunday in Syndey Australia. One of their guiding principles is that when it comes to overcoming problems that drag us down we cannot depend upon our own strength but must rely on the power of God to overcome. I agree. That power was never more demonstrated than that one tomb in the cemetery that was empty. Jesus tomb.
In Syndey and other cities in Australia A group is meeting there this morning to celebrate that empty tomb that gives us hope because of the promise of Jesus.
In 1879 group of people who follow Jesus Christ started meeting togther at the Oak Ridge church of Christ. Each week they gather in person and online now across America and around the world to celebrate the life of Jesus Christ. They pray for each other. They strive to lay down their lives for each other and the needy in their community nearby, Ladonia, Texas. I am thankful to be part of their congregation in person when I can and online when I cannot.
Tomorrow churches around the world will have a piece of bread and some juice to remember the body and blood of Jesus given to be a passover lamb given to save God's people from their sins.
Jesus was named Jesus because He would save His people from their sins. He was called Immanuel because God is with His children. Wherever we go in person or with written letters or phones or Zoom calls all over the USA or the world, the good news of Jesus explains that the cemetery across from the Oak Ridge Church is not our ultimate hope. Heaven is.
Here it is only 10.38pm, Saturday, but I am already in an Easter Sunday mood. (This church building near Pidgeon Forge TN.)

Matthew 28.

28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
