Why do schools have "odd" rules? Why do police put their hand on heads of prisoners being placed in a car? Why do drill sargents yell and demean their recruits? Why do colleges demand you learn detailed accounting rules before you get your degree in accounting?
1. We must become broken and humble and learn that the world does not revolve around any one of us. We must learn to cooperate.
2. Because there is a best practices in medicene, surgery, accounting, policing, carpentry and farming and most other honorable vocations.
3. These "rules" must be learned and placed into muscle memory.
4. Do these change over time? Yes. But not from fly by night snake oil salesmen and false prophets.
If we refuse to cooperate peacefully then other measures must be taken.

For there is no authority except [b]from God, and those which exist are established by God. 2 Therefore [c]whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. 3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for [d]good behavior, but for evil. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a servant of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. 5 Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; [e]respect to whom [f]respect; honor to whom honor.

 6.10- The Power of Keeping a Confidence I have a close friend who started listening to my confidential words 46 years ago. He guards his lips and preserves secrets and deep friendship. He does not speak rashly. He doesn't add shame to the bad things l have experienced. He reduces my burdens by his grace. He has good judgement regarding when to speak and when to remain silent.
