Refreshing Our Spirits With Scripture

 7.28- People come into our lives for a time of friendship and there a joyful, fun, friendship. .maybe over the years trust is built up. There can be an assumption you would be good to work together. No that may or may not be true. All positive humans should be, "friendly" at work. As much as possible, be at peace, with all people. That doesn't mean close friends should work together or hire each other. Ephesians 5 15  So then,  [ k ] be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise,   16  [ l ] making the most of your time, because the days are evil.   17  Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord  is .   18  And do not get drunk with wine,  [ m ] in which there is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,   19  speaking to  [ n ] one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord;   20  always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to  our  God and

 7.27- Why do schools have "odd" rules? Why do police put their hand on heads of prisoners being placed in a car? Why do drill sargents yell and demean their recruits? Why do colleges demand you learn detailed accounting rules before you get your degree in accounting? 1. We must become broken and humble and learn that the world does not revolve around any one of us. We must learn to cooperate. 2. Because there is a best practices in medicene, surgery, accounting, policing, carpentry and farming and most other honorable vocations. 3. These "rules" must be learned and placed into muscle memory. 4. Do these change over time? Yes. But not from fly by night snake oil salesmen and false prophets. If we refuse to cooperate peacefully then other measures must be taken. Romans 13 13  Every  [ a ] person is to be subject to the governing authorities.  7.26- My friend was telling me about some workout partners at his gym. She was doing good things to discipline her body. She was 53. She ate the clean perfect food. She worked out religiously. She and her husband were raising two teenage boys together. She prepared to get older. Did she prepare to not get older? He didn't know. She moved from the earth this week from pancreatic cancer. Pray for her husband and sons and those like her. Teach us to number our days. Our purpose in life is "to know God and enjoy him forever". 28,413 so far for me.  7.25- On my trip through the Bible this year I was to read 2 Chronicles yesterday. I was to read the seventh chapter. I came to the fourteenth verse and I had put down my four color pen. 2 Chronicles 7. 14  and My people  [ a ] who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

 7.24- These people have been partners in learning about life since 10.1.1977, 17,093 days ago. The way to help people is to believe in them when they don't believe in themselves. When we have attempted something great there are times we will fail and not live up to our best hopes. Failure. Those who come to us and give us a hand up and tell us that we are not quitting but getting up to learn a new way to succeed. Friends help us to overcome. Work partnerships, new and more realistic goals. Fun. Fellowship. Fried chicken. Fries. Fooling around. Feeling tired after long, hard, physical work and refreshment. These build us up for long term victory. I will never forget my work associates who kept me on track with helping those who were open to my help. For those who weren't open to my help I could pray for them to be helped by others in a different way. For others it was not the right time for them to accelerate their learning.  7.23- Godly people are full of grace and truth and are not liked by everyone. They are outside the mainstream. They have chosen a narrow path to support and encourage the sick, weak and powerless and be content living among the common people. They are not into men's politics and men's religion. They are not upwardly Mobil, they are downwardly Mobil. Their leader died outside the camp on a garbage dump between two theives in order to rescue all people. The rich and the poor and all in between.
