Short prayers of the dying.

There is deep grief when a human who has a loving family faces their death.  Humans are made to fight for survival.   In these moments there is a longing to have the people who have loved you to be nearby.  Keeping watch with you so that you are not alone in your dying.  The prayers near then end can be very simple.  One friend of mine had a prayer something like this.  “Could this be the day Lord?”  My very best friend said this “Let this cup pass.”  He said it three times and all He heard was silence.  My friend Jesus is real in this scene, but it isn’t the final scene.  He will return and show that love and grace win over sin and failure.  Come Lord Jesus.
