11.23-Today is the right day.
11.23-
Today is the day to:
Soften your heart to hear
of God’s love for you.
Encourage someone with a
kind word.
To hold tight to our
assurance that we are God’s children.
To remember that God
understands your weakness and knows how to strengthen you.
To draw near to God with
confidence that you will receive mercy and grace to help you in your time of
need.
To reflect and learn from
your time of suffering.
Hebrews 3.7
7 Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says,
“Today if you hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts as [b]when they provoked Me,
As in the day of trial in the wilderness,
8 Do not harden your hearts as [b]when they provoked Me,
As in the day of trial in the wilderness,
Hebrews 3.
12 Take care,
brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart [c]that falls
away from the living God. 13 But
encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called
“Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we have become partakers of Christ, if
we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end, 15 while it is said,
Hebrews 4.
10 For the one who has
entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.
Hebrews 4.15
15 For we do not have a
high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been
tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the
throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of
need.
Hebrews 5.8
8 Although He was a Son, He
learned obedience from the things which He suffered. 9 And
having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of
eternal salvation,
Hebrews 5.
11 Concerning [k]him we have
much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of
hearing. 12 For though [l]by this time
you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the [m]elementary
principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid
food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not
accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. 14 But
solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained
to discern good and evil.
6 Therefore leaving the [n]elementary
teaching about the [o]Christ, let
us press on to [p]maturity,
not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward
God, 2 of instruction about washings and laying on of hands,
and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. 3 And
this we will do, if God permits.
