9.2-Are you are trouble-maker?

9.2-

Matthew 5.
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how [e]can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.

The Joy of the Lord is our strength.
Jesus invited the disciples to follow Him, but it would not be without testing and persecution. They would need to buckle up their chin straps and get ready for some turbulence and trouble. It was so frightening that even though Peter thought he could stand up to it but he actually couldn’t.

When push came to shove He denied that he knew Jesus and proved it with some cuss words.

Jesus said to them that they were the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Paul was called a troublemaker. Impact people will have those who speak badly of them.
We need to learn as followers of Jesus not to worry about such things. We need to make sure our own attitude is right and then do what is right and let God take care of everything.

We have to set our own agenda led by God’s word and refuse to worry what the world thinks of our work. Heaven and earth passes away and God's word remains.

We need to let God define us and not the world.

The world will describe our lives as unloving because we are clear about what is right and what is wrong according to God. God is the final judge of people and we are not. We love and we teach but leave the judging to God who knows all.

We are not trying to fulfill some passive role without impact. We must never deny Jesus to be accepted by the world.

Salt has a flavoring effect. It is not like the food around it or it is worthless.
You are the salt of the earth.

We flavor. We preserve. We add health.

Love God. Love your neighbor and don’t worry about their opinions of us
