A personal Lamentation

How long will hate and murder be done to those reaching out to others with love. With the wine of communion in hand to share the memory of the blood of Jesus a man pulls a gun and shoots his fellowman. How long? From Cain killing Able to the shooting today evil continues. How long Lord?

These shootings that made national headlines have been close to my own heart because of my own proximity to them.

I hear people say things like this, “No more thoughts and prayers. Action. That’s what we need.”
Are they saying actions without thoughts and prayers?

I believe that actions without thoughts and prayers can be the actions that can make things worse instead of better.

Our hearts are saddened for the members of the West Freeway Church of Christ. Especially the family of Brother Tony Wallace and Richard White. It is right to have thoughts and prayers to God for his family and friends and to also take action that will improve things in the future and not make them worse.

It is my hope that we pray more about the renewal needed to prevent this evil from moving into our hearts, families and communities by the grace and mercy of God.

It is my prayer that we think more about the love needed to overcome the hate that would drive such terrible decisions.

It is actions that those in the church did that stopped more death from happening.
God bless the people of the West Freeway church of Christ.

 9.7- The long prayers about not electing anyone who doesn't support babies in the womb but unwilling to support and educate them for the next 18 years. Save your political action prayers for the meeting with your win/lose political party, whether you are democrat, republican or independependent as far as I'm concerned. Preach and sing the gospel but leave moral slobbery for some group that doesn't abuse children and cover it up and practices racism as a normal thing.
