5.5- To hear wise words and follow them, builds a strong base.

 5.5-

To hear wise words and follow them, builds a strong base.

There has been a problem in my life this week with switches. First on my vacuum cleaner and then on my reading lamp. The light switch keeps the bulb from burning out and wasting energy.
So on Friday after I finished with my vacuum plug, I got on a roll and decided to get a good friend to help with a worn out light switch on my reading lamp. It was something we inherited from Ralph and Gladys Self, my wife's parents. It is the light we use to read Scripture, write and discuss the future of our marriage and family life.

My friend said, "Bring it over and I'll look at it". In only a day this friend had repaired the switch and added black tape to strengthen the pole.

Now I can get back to the joyful connections I have with my friends on social media and, hopefully, use mindfulness and meditation on truth to enrich our lives. God's Word is light to my path and a lamp to my feet.

Matthew 5.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a [f]hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a [g]basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5.
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and [o]acts on them, [p]may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the [q]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not [r]act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the [s]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
28 [t]When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; 29 for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
