A man rang my door bell at 6am this morning.
This seems like an odd thing. My son and his wife are preparing to go to work. I don't have any normal, regular meetings at that hour with anyone. My house doesn't have any security guard watching over me. I had been awake since 1.41am off and on because of eating too late late last evening. I need to learn to eat earlier in the day if I want to sleep well at night.
On the other hand I'm glad I was up when the door bell rang. I was preparing my scattershooting devotional thought for the day.
Scattershooting
1. "You don’t need to go through an airport to be a missionary."
2. Without trust and respect we cannot spiritually help people. Therefore, as followers of Jesus, we constantly do things to build trust and refuse to do anything to destroys trust.
3. We do not need any special equipment to show the love of God. All it requires is a small bottle of water.
4. The way to improve your health significantly is to connect with a source of loving kindness.
It was my friend, Jeff Weaver, with whom I have been in a Thursday men's Bible study group for ten years. The other two guys in our group were out of town today and so it is not our normal practice, but we had decided he would come over to my house at 6am.
He gave me a beautiful four color pen which I constantly use and I gave him a bottle of water.
I think I may have violated point 3. Opps.

 9.7- The long prayers about not electing anyone who doesn't support babies in the womb but unwilling to support and educate them for the next 18 years. Save your political action prayers for the meeting with your win/lose political party, whether you are democrat, republican or independependent as far as I'm concerned. Preach and sing the gospel but leave moral slobbery for some group that doesn't abuse children and cover it up and practices racism as a normal thing.
