2.1- He fell down carrying that cross.
2.1-
He fell down carrying that cross. A man was forced to help him and that was his connection with Simon. He needed help to carry that cross.
When the teacher needs to teach our grandchildren, he calls us to help him teach them when the door is open. Our connection to our family and church family at times can be through our weakness. I sit in my scooter or recliner and people come to me. They try to encourage me.
When I first started my work with the teacher it was my honor to drive over and visit Bro. Johnson. I was strong enough be a on the go, go go type of person. I went to Baylor hospital to read a verse of scripture with Sister Ecricson who was dying too young at 65. She was weak but I could be strong for her.
For many years I thought the only way to connect with people was with my strength and mobility. Now I am seeing connection with people through my lack of mobility and weakness.
"Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength...
Isaiah 40
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives strength to the weary,
And to the one who lacks might He increases power.
30 Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31 Yet those who [ac]wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will [ad]mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
