I want to do all I can to remove any burden that I can remove from my family and friends.  Without meaning to we add "I shoulda..." guilt trip to our beloved family.  My prayer today is how can I lighten their load. My teacher saw that people tend to be overburdened.  He gave an invitation to come to him and he would lighten the load by getting under it with them.  This would reduce the load.   In the close contact he would share hsi humility and gentleness in a way that made life easier not harder.  He even went so far as to remove dirt from their feet which had walked paths with dirt and donkey manure. He did all he could for his beloved to make them feel guided and supported. I want to do the same.

He *said to Him, “Lord, You are washing my feet?” 7 Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing, you do not realize right now, but you will understand later.” 8 Peter *said to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no [b]place with Me.” 9 Simon Peter *said to Him, “Lord, then wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!” 10 Jesus *said to him, “He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet; otherwise he is completely clean. And you are clean—but [c]not all of you.” 11 For He knew the one who was betraying Him; it was for this reason that He said, “Not all of you are clean.”

12 Then, when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done for you? 13 You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord’; and [d]you are correct, for so I am. 14 So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I gave you an example, so that you also would do just as I did for you. 16 Truly, truly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is [e]one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them. 18 I am not speaking about all of you. I know the ones whom I have chosen; but this is happening so that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’ 19 From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe that I am He. 20 Truly, truly I say to you, the one who [f]receives anyone I send, [g]receives Me; and the one who [h]receives Me [i]receives Him who sent Me.”

 6.10- The Power of Keeping a Confidence I have a close friend who started listening to my confidential words 46 years ago. He guards his lips and preserves secrets and deep friendship. He does not speak rashly. He doesn't add shame to the bad things l have experienced. He reduces my burdens by his grace. He has good judgement regarding when to speak and when to remain silent.  7.1- In times when the world seems upside down. In perilous times. People love themselves more than their family or their country. Those in positions requiring generosity are found to be selfish hoarders. People supposed to be humble servants are boastful. Where there should natural affection for family and friends it is absent. These times include men of God being exposed as phoney predators and liars. These call evil good and good evil. What can we do to find a place to stand? Remember those who have shown the love and kindness of God to you? What was the guidance and power in their life? What kind of finish did they have in their life?
