3.27- I had felt some joy and delight in making people laugh and enjoy life

 3.27-

I had felt some joy and delight in making people laugh and enjoy life since the days in middle school and high school. I was always looking for an angle to make and quick comment. Dad would say, "I like smart people, but I don't like smart alec s." He would say that when I would pop off when I should have been quiet.
God one time said that he was going to give his children success not because they were stiff necked, but in spite of the fact that they were stiff necked. The point I'm making that those of us who are talkative need to be more reflective about what we say and what we write and post especially me.
Having said that, I got the impression about the year 1969 that I should use my mouth to teach people about God's great love for His children. By the grace and mercy of God and the patience of His people I was able to regularly teach on weekends from about April 1 , 1969 to March 24, 2013.
At about 1.30pm on this date, 3.24.13 I fell and broke my knee and that was then end of my regular weekend teaching work. Today I am so thankful for the grace, mercy and forgiveness and patience of people to allow me to try to encourage people with the good news of God's great love for His children.
Sheila and I knew a change point was coming for we were about 66 at the time and something would happen and we would need to change and move closer to Jeff to get his help in this stage of our lives. So on Sunday afternoon as I walked down my icy drive way my feet went out and up and behind went down and I could not move my lower left leg. In the E.R. Sheila said, "Is this the precipitating event?" "Yes." After surgery to reconnect my tendons and after more prayer snd reflection that was it.
You who read this are part of allowing me to continue a form of teaching and encouragement. I am still blessed after 12 years to still be able to communicate out things that might uplift and encourage and keep the joy of the good Lord flowing. I love each of you.
2 Timothy 4
I solemnly exhort you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready [a]in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and [b]exhort, with [c]great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and will turn aside to myths. But as for you, use self-restraint in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
