2016 Politics and The position of power versus the position of blessing

Politics uses money and power to force certain changes in people.

Jesus said that the position of humility was the place of blessing.

The apostle Paul was very effective as a broken down sinner in need of grace.

When he tried to accomplish his goals with force and power he failed.  He used his position to embrace the stoning of a godly man.

When he moved into the position of seeing himself as a sinner saved by the mercy of God he was greatly blessed.

 Luke 18.
Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

The position of blessing
God be merciful to me the sinner.
When we move from this position we lose the blessing.
When we move into being arrogant and self righteous we lose the blessing.
When we move into playing the role of God and judging others we lose the blessing.
When we ask God to be merciful to us as sinners we align ourselves with the truth that is within our hearts.

It aligns with the truth of Jesus Christ.
It aligns with the truth of our own family and beloved friends and supporters.
The truth sets us free enjoy life and be fruitful and grow.
The reception of mercy allows us to pass it generously to others.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed by your name....

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
