When an occasion of practising some virtue offered, I addressed myself to God, saying, Lord, I cannot do this unless Thou enablest me: and that then I received strength more than sufficient. That when I had failed in my duty, I only confessed my fault, saying to God, I shall never do otherwise, if You leave me to myself; ’tis You must hinder my falling, and mend what is amiss. That after this, I gave myself no further uneasiness about it. —Brother Lawrence, page 12

 6.10- The Power of Keeping a Confidence I have a close friend who started listening to my confidential words 46 years ago. He guards his lips and preserves secrets and deep friendship. He does not speak rashly. He doesn't add shame to the bad things l have experienced. He reduces my burdens by his grace. He has good judgement regarding when to speak and when to remain silent. This gives him good long term friends and deep joy.  4.2- The right kind of freedom versus the wrong kind of freedom. We were born to be free. This kind gives us the mastery under God to become excellent farmers and craftsmen. We fall down and get up in this pursuit, but we gain spiritual humility which helps us improve. Ready. fire and aim better. Fake freedom is fly paper and the fly.
